Riders on Carowinds' Windseeker Stuck
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Over 60 Carowinds visitors were stuck on the Windseeker for an hour Sunday afternoon.
In a release, Carowinds says that a sensor was engaged causing the ride's safety system to activate as the ride began going up the tower.
The ride came to a slow stop. The maintenance and safety teams responded and brought all 64 riders back to the ground after being stuck for an hour and ten minutes. No injuries were reported.
Carowinds says, "we are committed to the protection of all our guests. Each of our rides is inspected, check-listed and properly maintained daily. Carowinds will continue to consistently monitor and inspect the rides and operation thereof."
The windseeker made news last summer when riders were stuck in mid-air for almost three hours.
The park anticipates the ride to be back open tomorrow.
