Mount Holly Parents Facing Felony Child Abuse Charges
MOUNT HOLLY, N.C.--Police arrested two people in Mount Holly on felony child abuse charges after their child was taken to the hospital with broken bones.
Investigators say 18-year-old Carmen Holden and 25-year-old William Walker Jr. told authorities the child rolled off the couch. However, hospital personnel determined the broken bones on the 2-month-old happened over a period of time and not during one incident.
Walker has been charged with five counts of felony child abuse. He is currently in the Gaston County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
Holden has been charged with one count of felony child abuse and four misdemeanor child abuse charges. She is also in the Gaston County Jail but was given a $50,000 bond.
