Myrtle Beach Wants Longest Boardwalk in World
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.--The mayor of Myrtle Beach wants to build the biggest boardwalk in the world. Mayor John Rhodes says he wants to extend the boardwalk from 1.2 miles to 4.6 miles.
The largest boardwalk in the world was in Atlantic City, New Jersey but Hurricane Sandy destroyed most of it.
The mayor says the key is finding funding for the construction.
City Council will also have a say in the development. However, the topic has not been added to any meeting agendas at this time.
