RALEIGH, N.C.--A gay rights group is planning several events throughout North Carolina after voters passed a constitutional amendment defining marriage as solely between a man and a woman.

The demonstration is part of the "We Do" campaign that is organized by the Campaign for Southern Equality.

The group says 12 people will get arrested after they are denied marriage licenses as same-sex couples.

The police have been notified and said they do not think the protests will be violent.
