CHARLOTTE, NC -- A Charlotte man wanted for cutting off his electronic monitoring device is back in jail. Officers say Otis Johnson was released from jail in August of 2012 after he was arrested on firearm charges. He was ordered to wear an electronic monitoring device as a condition of his release. On January 8, 2013, he cut off his electronic monitor shortly after being questioned about an unrelated crime. Authorities say they arrested him early Tuesday morning.

Johnson is the first offender to cut a monitor off in 2013.
