LENOIR, NC - Neighbors on Flinstone Court in Lenoir are on edge and taking a stand following the arrest of a suspect in a brutal murder.

Caldwell County authorities say the accused killer, Earl Franklin Moore Jr. left 34-year-old Raoul Anton Dula of Lenoir dead on a driveway on Flinstone court Thursday morning.

Dula's mother helped police identify her son. She says it looked like he had been tortured or beaten.

"Stab wounds and cuts and scraped on his face. It was tattered," said Dula.

While she waits for answers, some residents along Flinstone Court say they've been suspicious of drug activity for years.

"We're not going to put up with it anymore. We've had enough! With this last incident, it's time for it to stop," said Jennifer Nichols, a Lenoir resident.

The man who livesin the home where the body was found says he knew Dula for over a year through mutual friends. But he says he's not sure why the body was left on his driveway.

"We've had SWAT teams on our street that have forced us in our homes while they clean up a drug house. We have seen so much of it, that no ma'am, I can't say it was much of a shock to me," said Nichols.

Nichols says neighbors report it, but police haven't done enough to stop it. Now, she says the crime has gone too far.

"There is no security anymore with letting our children out. Now, we're going to have to keep them confined," said Nichols.

Investigators have not released a motive for the killing.

Moore is being held in the Caldwell county detention center tonight without  bond. His first court appearance is on Monday.
