New Craft Beer AppCHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Craft Beer lovers will soon have a secret weapon to help local breweries sip a little success in a relatively sober economy. Charlotte residents and Craft Beer lovers Kevin Brindley and Brian Hamlett created the Craftie Beer app. They hope it will eventually become the Wikipedia of the Craft Beer Industry and feature more than 2,000 Craft breweries across the country. The app is expected to be available early next year. North Carolina buys a lot of beer. More than 6 million gallons last year alone. That is why the national beer institute ranks the Tar Heel state ninth in the country for beer sales. Not sure what everyone is doing with the booze because North Carolina is 35th in Beer Consumption. New Hampshire tops the list. People there drink an average 43 gallons a year.
