Off Duty CMPD Officer Assaulted During Craigslist SellYORK COUNTY, S.C.--An off-duty Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer told investigators that he was pepper-sprayed and assaulted when he tried to sell his iPhone to someone via a Craigslist ad. Police say the officer went to a gas station on Carowinds Boulevard just after 1 a.m. to meet the potential buyer. That's when the off-duty cop says the man pepper-sprayed him and took off with the phone. According to a police report, the officer pulled out a weapon and chased down the suspect but the officer was cut when the suspect closed the door to his getaway car. No arrests have been made at this time. |
