Officer Injured During Foot Chase, Suspect ArrestedCHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Police arrested the suspect that led a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer on a foot chase, leaving the officer pinned under a tree. Allen Jerome White, 20, was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of resist, obstruct and delay for his involvement in the case. An officer in the North Tryon Division was chasing White near Finchley Drive around noon Monday when the White ran behind a house. When the officer was climbing over a fence, a dead tree trunk fell onto the officer trapping him. MEDIC brought the officer to Presbyterian Hospital for his injuries where he is in stable condition. |
