Owner of Sheppard Welding Plant Killed in Explosion

KINGS MOUNTAIN, NC -- 69-year-old Gerald "Randy" Sheppard was killed after a diesel fuel tank exploded at his welding shop. According to deputies with the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department, the call for service came in just before 10:30 a.m at Sheppard Welding on Bethlehem Road. Sheppard, the owner, was attempting to repair a hole in a diesel fuel tank when pressure built up inside of the tank causing the explosion.

No other injuries were reported. Fire investigators are handling the accident. We'll have more details on FOX News @ Ten.
