Panthers Fifth in Total DefenseCHARLOTTE, N.C.--Wednesday the Cats will get back to work as they start getting ready for Sunday's home opener against the Saints. When the Cats hit the practice field the defense will have the upper hand for the first time in a long time. The week one numbers are in, and the Carolina Defense is ranked 5th in the league. A big thanks in part to new additions like defensive tackle Dwan Edwards, as well as old guys coming back from injury. Jon Beason led the team with 10 tackles, while linebacker Thomas Davis made some big plays. Thomas Davis says he's happy to be in the game and off the sidelines.
