CHARLOTTE,NC--Construction is complete on a plan to improve the business corridor in Plaza Midwood.
City leaders held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the corner of commonwealth and Thomas Avenues Tuesday.
The $4 million project includes wider sidewalks and increased pedestrian and bicycle zones, it also introduces reverse angle parking.
Some city staffers admit the new changes are a tough sell specifically new parking arrangements but say it also has benefits.
Drivers who park incorrectly will get a warning for now but starting in April authorities will ticket people who do not back up in reverse parking spots.
