CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Charlotte Mecklenburg Police say Sharon Amity Road and Central Avenue is the East Charlotte intersection where Oscar Garcia Fuentes was known to cruise in his black Mustang convertible. But, that's not going to happen again anytime soon. Garcia-Fuentes was arrested Saturday night. He has been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter
and three counts of felony hit and run. CMPD released photos that show what's left of his car.
Some witnesses say he didn't have his headlights on and ran a red light before slamming into a Mazda sedan early Saturday morning at the intersection of  Sharon Amity and Albemarle.
Renee Toon witnessed the crash and it's aftermath. "He was going at a very high rate of speed,"
said the East Charlotte resident.

The driver 26 year old Tony Gabriel and a toddler in the back seat were killed. The passenger, 24 year old Brittany Massey was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. "She was saying...is he gonna be okay...is he gonna be okay...and they just took her," said Toon.

Police say Garcia-Fuentes took off behind a pawn shop and ran down the street, "He did like a sprint and took off like he wasn't in an accident...that's really sad," said Toon.

Garcia Fuente's life will no doubt be different as he awaits his fate behind bars at the Mecklenburg County Jail but the victim's families will be changed forever. Garcia Fuentes is expected to make his first appearance before a judge on Tuesday afternoon.
