Police: Local Teacher's Assistant Arrested For Shooting Ex-Husband

MONROE, N.C.--Police say a Union County teacher's assistant has been arrested after she shot her ex-husband. 

Investigators say Jeanine Collins got into an argument with the man and allegedly shot him during a struggle. 

Cops say she lied to detectives during the course of the investigation.  She is facing assault with a deadly weapon charges. 

No word on the man's condition at this time.
