Police Make Arrest in Animal Hospital Robbery

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A man has been arrested after police say he robbed the Freedom Drive Animal Hospital, kidnapped an employee and stole the company's vehicle. 

Fifty-three-year-old Robert Rhinehardt is facing numerous felony charges.  Police also connected him to an armed robbery and kidnapping that happened on Welling Avenue in northwest Charlotte. 

Rhinehardt was taken into custody early Thursday morning at the Lucky Penny Hotel.  He faces the following charges: three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and three counts of 2nd degree kidnapping.
