CHARLOTTE, NC -- UPDATE: Police say wet roads are the cause of a fatal accident in south Charlotte. Authorities say Demond Strothers was driving a 1966 Ford Mustang when he lost control of the vehicle and slid across the lane. Strothers struck a Honda Accord nearly head on. Police say the victim was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown through the front windshield.

Witness accounts say speed and alcohol might be a factor. It was raining heavily at the time of the crash.
