Police Search For Convicted Murderer After Accidental Release

CHICAGO, I.L.--Police are searching for a convicted murderer after he was accidentally released from custody in Chicago. 

Officials at the Indiana Department of Corrections say Steven Robbins was taken to a Chicago court house to face drug charges. 

During the hearing, the drug charges were dropped against Robbins.  Illinois authorities released Robbins after the charge was dropped. 

He was convicted of murder in Indiana and his earliest possible release date is in 2029.  Arrest warrants have been issued for Robbins.
