CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The trailer for "What to Expect When You're Expecting" is pretty
entertaining, but when Britax Director of Marketing Jon McGuire sees that clip, he's not focused on the funny.  "I watched the movie and I'm looking for Britax name and brand all over the place," he says.

Britax's North American headquarters are in southwest Charlotte.  The car seat and stroller company started talks about a year ago with movie makers to be the main product sponsor.  So the strollers you see the actors pushing and the baby carrier Chris Rock is wearing are Britax.  McGuire says, "We did have some influence on making sure that they were using the products the way they should be used and not demonstrating them in a wrong way."

"I can always call out the product we have in there," says customer service manager Rita Isenhoward.  She hopes the movie will increase Britax's local profile.  She says, "From year's of experience, people don't even know that were are out here at all."

The investment, like any, is a risk and McGuire says the company will watch sales data on a weekly basis and hope for an increase.  That'd be good for the company and good for the Charlotte area.  "This movie will do a lot for us," says McGuire.

He just got back from Los Angeles for the Hollywood premiere.  Friday, the entire Charlotte office (more than 200 employees) will head to the theater to see their hard work for themselves.  McGuire says, "To go and see them (the strollers and carriers) on the big screen in front of you, it's just such great recognition and really makes people feel proud about what they're doing."

The movie stars Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez and hometown girl Brooklyn Decker.  McGuire says to his knowledge, Britax is the first Charlotte company to have a role like this in a  Hollywood movie.
