Red Cross Helps Families Affected by Saturday Fires
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Red Cross was busy assisting three different families from three different Charlotte fires Saturday.
Around 3 a.m., CFD responded to an apartment fire at 1701 West Blvd. One unit was effected by the fire, displacing a family of four - 1 adult and 3 children. Red Cross volunteers helped the family find somewhere else to stay.
Later that day, around noon, the fire department responded to a single family fire in southwest Charlotte. The flames completely destroyed a family's home on Pitty Pat Court. Red Cross helped the three members of the family. Sadly, a dog and cat died in blaze.
Red Cross continued their efforts in Charlotte when a fire broke out at a house on Deerwood Road. The organization is finding shelter for the one adult displaced.
