Rock Hill House Fire Leaves Family of 10 Homeless

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- A Rock Hill house fire displaced one family Tuesday morning. The family of ten - five adults and five children - ranging from 3 to 16 years of age, lost their pet dog in the fire.

All ten family members lived in the brick house at 1442 Greenwood Lane. Nine of the ten residents were home when the fire broke out around 4 a.m. The tenth resident was at work.

According to Fire Captain Karen Kane, a five-year old girl in the house alerted her grandfather of thefire, whch originated in the back bedroom.

The Rock Hill Fire Departrment does not suspect anything suspicious. There was a total of $120,000 worth of damage done to the house, which is a total loss. No injuries were reported.
