SC Son Sets His Mother On FireANDERSON, S.C.-- A South Carolina woman dies weeks after deputies say her own son set her on fire. Piedmont resident Debra Davis, 61, died on Tuesday due to organ failure. Coroner Greg Shore says she was being treated at the Joseph M. Stills Burn Center in Augusta, GA. Davis was burned on 30% of her body after her son allegedly doused her in gasoline and set her on fire on January 1st. Stanley Shawn Davis, 38, was charged with attempted murder after the fire, but reports say investigators are considering filing more serious charges. According to investigators, Stanley Davis was shot and wounded by his brother after the fire. The brother faces no charges. |
