SALISBURY, NC – An Alcohol Law Enforcement agent today charged the owner of the Z and H Mart in Salisbury after investigations revealed he contributed to a fatal skateboarding accident on June 11.

Authorities say, Hecham Abualeinan, 68, of 3608 Mooresville Road, was charged with two counts of selling alcohol to a person under the age of 21.

ALE Agent Jerry Dean and Rowan County Sheriffs Office detectives determined that the victim, Jonah Kelley King, 16, of 335 Bob White Run, purchased beer from the Z and H Mart the day of the accident and the day before.

King had been skateboarding on Timberlake Trail on June 11, about 1:30 a.m.  He lost his balance on his long board, struck the pavement and sustained a head injury. King was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he died from his injuries on June 12.

King was being followed on the skateboard by his friend, Kevin Frances Robinson, 18 of 145 Red Fox Run, Salisbury, who was driving a Ford F150 when the accident occurred.  N.C. State Highway Patrol Trooper K.G. Barringer charged Robinson with underage drinking and driving with an open container of alcohol.
