WILLIAMSTON, N.C. (AP)--A Williamston man is in jail after authorities say he stayed in a house with his dead girlfriend for several days without reporting it.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that 44-year-old Randall Edward Johnson is charged with a felony count of concealing a death from law enforcement. Johnson is jailed under $100,000 bond, and it's not known if he has an attorney.

A statement from the sheriff's office said deputies responding to a call on April 6 found the decomposing body of Carla Jean Baggett in the home she shared with Johnson. It's believed Johnson had shared the bedroom with Baggett since April 3, when she was last seen alive.

The sheriff's office said there was no evidence of foul play. The cause of death hasn't been released.
