Welcome to Unexpected Finds, the antique shop, with many different shops inside. Theresa Sabin is the shop owner. Sabin says, "It gives an opportunity to the small business person who can't afford a store front of their own, to give them a space inside my space."

Theresa Sabin rents out areas of her antique and gift store to other small business owners like Hattie Keyes. Keyes says, "I didn't have to acquire my own space, or work out electricity and all the little things that come with owning your own shop." Small business owners are facing a harsh reality locally and nationally. They are having a hard time surviving on their own, so they look for help.

"Two local business owners and bakers share this kitchen. They both bake out of it, and say its the best way to cut costs in this tough economy." Tracy Watkins owns Kai's Cookies and More and says, "We've had up to six people in this kitchen at one time." Aside from sharing baking together, Watkins and her baking mate Emma Merisier help share the costs of running a business.

Watkins says, "It has made it a lot easier to manage the costs of taking care of the overhead costs of the renting the space and heating the space and cooling the space." Business owners coming together to save money and share the same space is a new concept popping up locally, and these business owners say it could save them from falling off the fiscal cliff in the new year.
