ROWAN COUNTY, N.C.-- The Rowan County Sheriff's Department launched an investigation in May into allegations that Ralph Wager engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with a child under the age of 10 during the late 1980s, while he was a coach at Catawba College.

Wager was arrested at his home in Charlotte Tuesday and brought back to the Rowan County Detention Center. He is charged with three Felony counts of First Degree Sex Offense with a Child, three Felony counts of Crimes Against Nature, and three counts of Felony Indecent Liberties with a Child.

Wager most recently coached for the Steele Creek Soccer Club in Charlotte. When contacted, a representative for the soccer club would not state if Wager is still employed. His name is no longer listed on the club's website.

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call (704) 216-8739.
