Charlotte Woman Killed in Car Collision in Union County

STALLINGS, NC -- A Charlotte woman was killed when her car was hit by an out of control driver on Saturday. According to Union County Sheriff's Department, Eric Sobel, of Matthews, was traveling east bound on Potter Road when he attempted to pass an SUV and ran off the road. Tammy Tucker was operating her 1989 Mazda when Sobel collided into the driver side of her vehicle. She was transported to Carolinas Medical Center where she was later pronounced deceased. Authorities say charges may follow pending the outcome of the investigation. There is no word yet if alcohol was a factor or if any of the victims were wearing seat belts.
