Study: College GPA Drops When Parents Pay for School

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Accepting help from mom and dad in college could hurt your grades.  A new study in the American Sociological Review says kids who's parents pay for school have lower GPA's. 

Researchers say students work harder when they are having to fork over something, whether it's money or good grades. 

Scholarships, work-study programs and part-time jobs all boost GPA's.
