Three Charged After Missing Teen Found

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C.-- Deputies arrested three people from the house where a missing teen was hiding.

According to a release, a detective went to a home on Bess Chapel Church Road in Cherryville around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday searching for missing 15-year-old Justin Scott Rathbone. Officers asked and were granted permission to search the home after smelling marijuana.

Rathbone was found hiding in the attic. It is illegal to hide a missing juvenile.

Emery Watts, 60, who lives in the home, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Joshua Alan Gilbert, 18, who also lives in the home, was charged with felony manufacturing a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and resist, delay and obstruct a public officer.

Rebecca Kirkland Eaker, 46, who was visiting the home, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of contributing to the delinquency and neglect by a parent and resist, delay and obstruct a public officer.
