Titanic II Plans Unveiled In New York
NEW YORK, N.Y.--Blueprints for the Titanic II were released at a news conference Tuesday in New York. An Australian billionaire said he is confident the new ship will not sink.
Clive Palmer plans on creating a nearly exact match to the original ship that sunk in the Atlantic Ocean in 1912 after hitting an iceberg.
Palmer plans on completing the journey from Southampton to New York. The Titanic II is set to launch in 2016.
Close to 40,000 applications have already been submitted as people want to make the historic voyage.
Some people have already offered to pay up to $1 million for a first class cabin. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes similar to the clothing worn in 1912.
