Trooper Resigns After Being Arrested For DWI While On Duty

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C.--A North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper has resigned after he was charged with driving while impaired during his shift. 

Officials say Trooper James Holbert had been employed with the Highway Patrol for seven years. 

He was arrested while on duty for the Hendersonville Patrol Office based in Henderson County, North Carolina.  Investigators have not released his blood alcohol level.
