BREAKING: Two Shot Outside Chesterfield Courthouse
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. -- A man is in custody for his involvement in a shooting outside of a courthouse.
Two people were shot outside of the courthouse, located at 200 North Main Street, around 12:30 p.m. The Sheriff's Officer responded to the scene, where Olivia Weaver and her stepfather, Johnny Nolan, were shot.
Weaver and Nolan were sitting in their car when a man pulled up ion a pickup truck, got out, and started firing. Weaver suffered a shot to the face and upper chest. Nolan was once in the shoulder. Both have injuries described as non-life threatening.
Witnesses say they saw the suspect, identified as Curtis Gorny, get into his truck and flee the scene. Law enforcement spotted him and chased him approximately 12 to 15 miles into Pageland before catching him in a ditch.
During the pursuit, Gorny fired multiple shots at law enforcement, but no one was injured.
Gorny is being held in Chesterfield County. Official charges are pending.
