Charlotte, NC - As a follow up to our Reboot Charlotte series, FOX Charlotte is looking at what's good about Charlotte.  For example, Charlotte ranks eighth nationally, in the number of fortune 500 companies headquartered here. Of the country's 40 largest cities, Charlotte is ninth in terms of cost of living. Those are examples of why experts say, Charlotte is such a great place to do business.

The airport, financial district and regional accessibility are the things most people point out when talking about the benefits of doing business in Charlotte. But at LEAD Technologies in the South End, the focus is people. Rich Little says, “We've got access to good talent, we've had success hiring kids coming out of UNCC and the other North Carolina Colleges."

Plus, Charlotte has such a diversity of businesses. The Charlotte Chamber of Commerce says, “In the past six months, we have had 900 jobs in retail, 700 in health care, about 300 in finance and insurance and 600 in professional and technical services. We're not just a one trick pony with banking."

When you talk manufacturing, Charlotte is a global destination. Foreign owned firms are actually continuing to increase, we have 900 in Charlotte.
