Woman Grows Mustache For MovemberLEEK, STAFFORDSHIRE--The month of November is really known as 'Movember' to many. Movember is a campaign to bring awareness to men's health issues like prostate and testicular cancer. During the month of November many men grow mustaches to show support for the campaign. Now, a British woman is helping support the cause. Siobhain Fletcher has a medical condition that caused her to have an imbalance of female sex hormones. This condition, polycystic ovary syndrome, caused her to have male-like characteristics. She told ABC news that she started growing facial hair in her early teens. For years, she has removed the hair by waxing and shaving. Fletcher has raised close to $2,000 on her Movember page. She says her motivation is, "to use my PCOS as a tool for raising awareness for men's cancers." |
