Police: Man Arrested For Stabbing Woman And Setting Her House On FireCHARLOTTE, N.C.--Police have arrested a man in connection to a case where a woman was found with stab wounds inside a burning home in West Mecklenburg County. Ryan Capps has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault on a handicapped person, sexual battery and first degree arson. Detectives say they responded to a house on Walkers Ferry Road early Friday morning after the victim's burglary and fire alarm was activated. Officers say the house was on fire when they arrived on the scene. The West Mecklenburg Volunteer Fire Department found the victim inside the house. She was taken to a local hospital and treated for the stab wounds she sustained during an apparent assault and for smoke inhalation. |
