Former York County Teacher Accused of Sexual Intercourse With Student
YORK, SC -- A former teacher at York Comprehensive High School faces sexual battery charges after he was accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student. According to a statement released by the York County School District, Jabari Patton resigned as masonry teacher and boys basketball coach in May. District Officials confronted Patton with reports that he had been involved in a sexual relationship with a student he taught at the Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center.
In 2011, a new South Carolina law made it illegal for teachers to have sex with students regardless of their age.
