Cat Gives Birth to Two-Faced Kitten
AMITY, O.R.--A cat gave birth to a two-faced kitten in Amity, Ore., on 6/11 at 6:11 a.m.
The kitten, Deucy, has four eyes, two noses and two mouths.
Deucy's owner Stephanie Durkee brought the cat into the local veterinarian's office where she learned all the feline's organs were intact and in great condition, according to sources.
Although the birth of a two-faced cat is unusual, this is not the first time an event such as this has taken place. A two-faced black cat named Harvey Dent was born in February 2012 but then died two days later due to complications. Then, that July, a cat with two faces named Gemini was born but died a few days later after undergoing issues consuming food with two tracheas and one throat.
However, despite the fact that many two-faced felines do not live long due to abnormalities connected to their condition, some of these cats have been known to defy the odds. In 2011, for example, a cat with two faces named Frankelouie won the Guinness World Record after he lived to be 12 years old.
After Deucy's visit to the vet, Durkee says she is optimistic her kitten will live a long, healthy life.
