DALLAS, T.X.--Police say a man tried to rob a police station in Dallas over the weekend.  Investigators say Keithan Manuel entered the police station and told a dispatcher to hand over the money.

Manuel is claiming the robbery was a practical joke.  Police Chief Victor Kemp said Manuel also told the dispatcher he wanted to check on a warrant and that he had a gun.

The dispatcher called for officers and Manuel was arrested after being held at gunpoint.  Police say he did not have a weapon.

Manuel has been charged with robbery and theft.  He is in jail on a $300,000 bond.
