Pseudo-Jellyfish Made from RatCAMBRIDGE, M.A.--It looks like a jellyfish, swims like a jellyfish but genetically it's a rat! Scientists created it using a silicone base to grow heart muscle cells harvested from a rat. An electric current makes it swim. Researches at Cal Tech and Harvard say the creation could lead to new heart treatments for humans. Another use, sending the jellyfish out to measure pollution. |
