BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Colombian authorities have arrested a former provincial lawmaker for allegedly telling leftist rebels in detail how to kidnap his fellow lawmakers.
Sigifredo Lopez himself was among legislators the insurgents seized in the 2002 raid in Cali, Colombia's third city.
All of the 11 other lawmakers were executed by the rebels five years later under circumstances that remain unclear.
In 2009, the rebels freed Lopez along with other politicians.
A Bogota radio station says the information leading to Wednesday night's arrest came from computers seized when the military killed the rebels' top leader last November.
