ELLIOT LAKE, Ontario (AP) — Rescuers workers have confirmed one person has died but believe there might be another person still alive in the rubble following a roof collapse at a mall in Northern Ontario.

Bill Needles, a spokesman from the Heavy Urban Search and Rescue team, said Monday crews used a remote device called the life detector to determine a person was breathing as of 4 a.m. this morning.

Needle says the location is the same where they heard some tapping in the rubble Sunday. But he says the area is unstable and rescuers had to retreat.

Needle says the person who died in another location is the same one whose hand and foot were visible in images captured by a remote camera. At least 22 people suffered minor injuries in Saturday afternoon's collapse.
