WASHINGTON, D.C. -- ISIS terrorists claim to have beheaded an American journalist, and are threatening the life of a second journalist.

The gruesome video of the beheading was released a few hours ago on YouTube and has since been taken down.  There was also a message from ISIS terrorists to the United States to end its intervention in Iraq.

The video, which is too gruesome for us to show, shows American freelance journalist James Foley reading a message apparently written by the terrorists.  It says the real killer is America.  Afterwards, Foley is beheaded.  Foley was kidnapped in 2012 while covering the war in Syria.  ISIS has also threatened to kill Time Magazine contributor Steve Sotloff if President Obama does not stop airstrikes in Iraq.

The White House is working to authenticate the video.  A post on the "Free James Foley" Facebook page asks for patience until the family gets more information.  It also asks for prayers for his family.
