Craft Goddess: Patriotic Dessert
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - It's not too late to make a dessert for your Fourth of July picnic that will be a hit with the crowd. The Craft Goddess stops by Fox News Rising to show us how to make a red, white and blue trifle.
14oz angel food cake (I used a store bought pre made cake)
Fresh raspberries and blue berries
1/2 pint of heavy cream
8oz brick of cream cheese
1/4 cup agave nectar
1 tsp vanilla
Whip the cream cheese and heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Add agave nectar and vanilla. Whip until incorporated. In a glass bowl or decorative glass, layer all components (raspberries, angel food cake, frosting, then blueberries). Repeat until the dish is full ending with a layer of the frosting smoothed flat with a butter knife. Finish with a berry pattern on top.
