Charlotte, N.C. -  Wilson was at Myers Park High School today  to check out how they are doing with their Student Hunger Drive.  They came in 2nd place last year, and they are determined to take first place this year.  And, they will do whatever it takes... from a little pickin' and grinnin' to even a rap (yep, rap) they are ready to win the hunger drive.

Twenty schools in the Charlotte area (both in N.C. and S.C.) are participating in this year's event.  Through all types of community events, contests and school activities students compete with other schools to see which school can collect the most pounds of food per student.

100% of the food that is donated goes back to families living in Charlotte area through the Second Harvest Food Bank's network of pantries.

Winning schools are awarded cash prizes to fund school projects, programs or supplies.
