CHARLOTTE, N.C. -  Wilson was in Uptown Charlotte today at the Harvey B. Gantt Center where he was joined by well-known talk show host Tavis Smiley.  Tavis is in town this weekend to host the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the "American I Am: The African American Imprint" exhibit.

The traveling exhibit presents more than 200 artifacts and information and provides context to how African Americans have contributed to and shaped American culture.  The exhibit covers 10,000 square feet in the center.

The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony at 10am on Saturday, June 30th.  Tickets for the opening are available.  The exhibit will continue at the Gantt Center through January 1, 2013.  Find out more information on the exhibit, times and ticket prices, click on the link below.
