CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Being prepared for any disaster is very important.  While visiting the American Red Cross today Wilson talked with the Traverso family who was prepared when their home caught fire.  They lost almost everything, but because they were prepared with a plan, everyone survived.  Katrina Traverso talked about the help and support they received from the Red Cross after the fire and how much it meant to them.

June 1st is the beginning of hurricane season and as long-time Charlotte residents know, we should always be prepared.  Angela Broome, American Red Cross CEO shows us what we should have on hand if we do get hit by a major storm.

Volunteers are the core of the Red Cross and they could use you.  Find out how you can help the Red Cross.

World Blood Donation Day is this Thursday, June 14th.  Contact the Red Cross to find out how  you can help.
