CHARLOTTE, N.C. - There are over 9,000 kids in North Carolina are in foster care and the need for foster parents is as great as ever. In this segment, Fox News Rising co-host Christine Noel introduces us to a local foster mom who has dedicated the last decade to fostering over a dozen kids in need of a loving home. She describes her experiences and the easy steps it took to becoming a foster parent.

It's much easier than you may think. According to the Children's home society of North Carolina, to become a foster parent you must be at least 21 years old and have a clean background- but you don't have to own your own home or be married. Foster parents also receive financial support. They receive a monthly stipend to off-set daily costs- and if accepted into a North Carolina college or university, the child will receive a grant to attend college.
