Dr. Tony Hyser: Allergy Prevention

by Kathryn Searles

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The pollen is covering your car, you're stocking up on tissues  and can't stop sniffling. Yes, it's allergy season! The doctor is in to help you nip it in the bud.

Dr. Tony Hyser, of Providence Health Center, has a few recommendations for your best defense.

Hyser mentions using a Neti Pot to flush the allergens out and thin out the mucus. You should use distilled water so that you don't get an infection.

Using Eucalyptus oil in the shower or a humidifier will also help to open the sinuses. Do not drink it.

Keep your air filters clean.
