CHARLOTTE, N.C. -  Hot dog eating contests are not a pretty sight, and the one at the Kangaroo Express on Charlottetown Avenue today was no exception.  But the highlight of Wilson's morning was when he met military personnel who have served and are currently serving their country.

Marvin Valez is retired from the U.S. Air Force.  Marvin's son, Marvin, Jr.,  has just returned from active duty in Afghanistan.  Sgt. Tommy Rieman, a true American Hero, was awarded the Silver Star for bravery and courage while he and his team were ambushed during a mission behind enemy lines.  Sgt. Rieman suffered bullet and shrapnel wounds.

The Kangaroo Express' "Salute Our Troops" campaign and celebration will be stopping at local Express locations throughout the Charlotte area through August 29th.  Stop by one of the locations to check out custom patriotic vehicles, record a video shout-out to the troops and enjoy games for the entire family.

Pick up a Roo Cup today and from now until Labor Day you can get refills for only 25 cents.  Each one of those quarters will go directly to "Salute Our Troops" campaign.
