CHARLOTTE, N.C. -  Wilson enjoys a little friendly competition...between other people.  So today he was getting out the word about this Friday night's big baseball game between the officers of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Blue Hornets and firemen of the Charlotte Fire Department.  He was joined at BB&T Ballpark with guys from both teams as well as the Knights' Homer, CMPD's Blue and CFD's Blaze.

The 4th annual event is a throw-down for bragging rights for the Chief's Cup.  Well, not really a throw-down.  But a fun event between the officers of the CMPD and fire fighters of CFD to raise funds for Levine's Children's Hospital as well as the honor of owning the Cup for the next year.  This year will be even bigger and better thanks to the Charlotte Knights and the crew at the new BB&T Ballpark.

Tickets for the charity event are only $5 and can be purchased online at or at the gate.  Gates will open up at 5:30pm with first pitch at 6:30pm.  Bring the kids and come out to help the kids at Levine Children's Hospital and enjoy a little end of summer baseball and a lot of fun between some of Charlotte's finest officers and fire fighters.

And don't forget that there is still time to get a chance to see a great Charlotte Knights' baseball game before their season is over.  Get Knights game and ticket info at
