What Do Tailgating and Composting Have in Common? Wilson, of Course!
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - It's football season! And that means lots and lots of trash after those Carolina Panthers games at Bank of America Stadium that will need to be picked up and recycled. Wilson was Uptown with Bojangles where their Panthers Tailgate recycle program for the season kicks off with the Panthers pre-season game on Friday night.
Last year inside and outside the stadium there was 78 tons of plastic and aluminum bottles, 12 tons of food waste and 37 tons of tailgating recycling totaling 127 tons. This was a record for the program. The recycling initiative program is a team effort with Bojangles, Mecklenburg County Solid Waste & Recycling, the City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services/Special Services, Charlotte Center City Partners and the Carolina Panthers.
The Panthers are not the only ones who can win on game day. Bojangles will be giving away gift cards to tailgating recyclers. Check out the link below for more information.
The Carolina Panthers kick off their pre-season this Friday night. If you can't make it to Bank of America Stadium, you can catch the game on WCCB Charlotte. Tune in at 7pm for a Got Game pre-game special before game kicks off at 7:30pm.
